Nesbert Vaval is from the Caribbean Island of St Lucia where he was born and raised for most of his formative years. On the island, Nez learned the value of service, hard work, and education from his family. He picked up tennis in high school and the Lord would use this along with two great coaches in a mighty way to shape and mold him into the man he is today.
Nez went attended Asbury University in Wilmore, KY, where he played tennis collegiately and majored in Business. There, he found a relationship with the Lord which culminated after a summer internship in Selma between his junior and senior year. After graduating, Nez married his wife, Kelli, and together they have two lovely kids.
They have been serving faithfully in Selma for the past 9 years and more recently as cross-cultural workers with TMS Global. Living incarnationally, they have built relationships through discipleship, mentoring, and coaching tennis. Nesbert is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity at Asbury Theological Seminary.
He has a heart to see people transformed into the image and likeness of Jesus through proximity, discipleship, and opportunity. He believes Seeds of Hope is a sanctuary in the midst of chaos. His prayer for Seeds of Hope is that people will come to encounter and develop a relationship with Jesus, know their purpose through exposure in Education, Athletics and the Arts. This will hopefully propel them to witness about Jesus in Selma and throughout the world.
Chief Administration Officer
Kelli Vaval serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of Seeds of Hope. With an undergraduate degree in Business from Asbury University and pursuing an MBA, Kelli brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role.
Kelli, along with her husband Nez and their two children, has been a part of the Selma community since 2016. Kelli spent a couple years as the director of a diversion program for juveniles on probation, leading her to develop a deep, heartfelt connection with the community. Initially, they did not foresee a long-term stay, but over time, they felt called by God to invest in the lives of those around them, recognizing the challenges many families faced.
In 2019, Kelli and Nesbert transitioned into full-time ministry with TMS Global and subsequently Seeds of Hope. Over the past few years, Kelli has enjoyed coaching a Girls on the Run team at a local elementary school, promoting healthy habits and positive life choices among young girls, organizing and managing the administrative duties of Seeds of Hope, hosting Bible studies and gatherings in their home, and organizing community events.
